Hi Again,
It's mid August and my book deadline is about two weeks away. It's coming down to the wire but I'm getting close (thanks to a few all nighters--sheesh, I feel like I'm back in college). Meanwhile, we have added nearly 30 new testers to the list and as soon as I get the manuscript sent off to Ten Speed Press we will begin our final round of testing (about 5 months of testing still await us while the book is in editing). Principal photography begins at the end of October, with the return of BBA photographer Ron Manville (why break up a good team!).
So, this is the last call for testers and probably my last post until September. If you are just checking in now for the first time, see the details below. I will be sending out a new questionnaire, designed by one of our own testers, LaDonna Saria, that asks for more details in a better format (thank you, LaDonna!) . For those who are new testers I will send out an information packet in advance to bring you up to speed. For all you veterans, check on your starter and make sure it's still healthy, keep baking on your own until the next round, and get ready to rumble. I will be sending out a list of all the breads in the book and give you the chance to pick the ones you want to test (rookies, I'll start you out with one and then you too can choose). Lurkers, you too are welcome to follow along vicariously through this blog. Check in from time for updates.
Enjoy the rest of summer. I hope things are cooling off wherever you live.
May your bread always rise!
Peter
PS For those of you in the Rochester area, I have just been invited to do a focaccia presentation at Wegman's Market on Friday, October 6th. Call the store for details, as seats are limited to about 25. It will be my first Wegman's experience. I understand it is an amazing market.
