We received a great response to the final call for testers (over 70 new testers, which puts us over 300 wild and crazy bakers!). I have to close the list now so we can begin our final months of testing. Thank you all for your enthusiastic response.
The manuscript has now gone off to the publisher. I'm very excited about the content and the recipes--it will be one of a kind, and about this time next year we should have the book in print. Whew! What a long summer it's been getting it done, what a relief, but there's still much to do. We'll be running nutritional analyses on all the breads, two photo shoots, recipe tweaking, and lots of editing ahead--but we're through the most important gate. Thank you to all who have been helping, testing, praying, sending positive thoughts--it all helped and I'm very grateful.
If you happen to be in Charlotte on Sept. 29 and 30 for the Charlotte Shout, please let me know so I can meet you. We'll be doing an actual radio show from the main stage on Saturday the 30th at 1PM ("Charlotte Talks with Mike Collins", our local NPR station), and some of the chefs who are coming for the Shout (and may be on the show with us) include: Wolfgang Puck, Martin Yan, Anthony Bourdain, Ming Tsai, Sara Moulton, Sarah Foster, and Scott Liebfried (of Hell's Kitchen fame). Hope to see you--it's like the Woodstock of culinary festivals.
