Hi Testers,
The chocolate-cinnamon babke recipe is nearly ready to send--I'm putting the final touches on it tonight and will be ready to send it out beginning Sunday evening. As before, I will only send it upon request, and only to those who have already been accepted as testers. Please, do not write till Sunday (well, we're almost there--it's 8:30 PM here, Saturday night, but already Sunday in the UK and Europe where we do have a number of testers). Again, I won't be sending it out till Sunday evening. Be forewarned, this is not a fast dough, it rises slowly in both the same day and overnight variations, and is very rich with some costly ingredients (like butter and chocolate), but I think it's pretty yummy. We've been toasting slices of it in a dry frying pan (don't want the chocolate dripping into our toaster) and then buttering it up to make it even more decadent. I'm hoping the instructions are clear enough, especially the shaping--it has a few twists and turns to try to get lots of veins of chocolate-cinnamon swirl. I'm looking forward to your feedback, but remember, testers, you don't have to test every recipe to stay involved, so don't feel obligated to write for it if you want to sit this one out. I'll probably be taking a couple of weeks to work on a few more recipes before offering another "send," so the next time we do this there will be more than one to choose from.
Back to the tweaking....
Peter
